| Beard Appointed to 2007 Board of Examiners for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence Award |

Nashville, Tennessee – Greta Beard has been appointed by the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) to the 2007 Board of Examiners. Currently, Beard is the director of purchasing and contracts for Tennessee Rehabilitative Initiative in Correction (TRICOR). As an examiner, Beard is responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications submitted in the award process. The Board of Examiners is composed of experts from all sectors, including business, industry, education and health care organizations, professional and trade associations, and government. Those selected meet the highest standards of achievement and peer recognition in their fields. All members of the board must complete extensive training in the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. Established in 1993, TNCPE promotes economic development by helping companies grow more competitive in today’s global marketplace. The program is patterned after the Baldrige National Quality Program, recognized as the national standard. Every year, the TNCPE award program recognizes organizations demonstrating excellence in business operations and results. More than 1,000 organizations have participated in the award program. Tennessee Rehabilitative Initiative in Correction was created in 1994 by the Tennessee General Assembly and is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Governor. TRICOR provides an environment where offenders learn work ethics and marketable skills which reduce recidivism and assist individuals with a successful reintegration into society. TRICOR’s philosophy is to effectively manage revenue supported industry, agriculture, and service operations for the purpose of employing and training offenders, providing quality products and services for our government and non-profit customers, and assisting in post-release employment. TRICOR manages a financially successful organization without receiving any state appropriated funds. |
